Ovarian cyst of 6cms

Asked for Female, 22 Years

M 22,years old. Ultra sound shows ovarian cyst of 6cms. There is no pain. Just bit of heaviness in abdomen. Since I got placed and was asked to go for medical check up that I came to know about it. M taking birth control pills for last twenty one days. Can it help remove my cyst?

Hi Sorry to hear that. Pills are usually given as first line of treatment in case any clear cyst is detected. Sometimes it may help. But since your cyst is 6 cm in size which is a bit on a higher side... result depends upon the nature of cyst...Its better to consult a nearby gynaecologist with expertise in gynaecological endoscopy... So that if surgery is needed, only cyst can be removed without causing any harm to the normal ovarian tissue. Take care
