Newborn baby premature
My newborn baby boy ( premature at 32 weeks) was born 17.03.2023 and kept in NICU for 15 days (weight at birth 1800 gms).  Was given formula milk 20-25 ml every two hours through feeding tube.  Now after removal of feeding tube, he is being with spoon but is taking intake of 15 ml only. weight now is 2200 gms. Is it ok if intake is low and weight not gaining or should feeding tube be inserted again? baby doesn't cry much and sleeps 15-16 hours.

Baby should get required amount of milk and there should be atleast 20gm weight gain per day.. if less weight gain, need to give remaining feed by tube. If good sucking, can try breast feeding.. but treating doctor will guide better who is seeing the baby daily.

400gms weight gain in 40 days is not enough. Either you take help in feeding or Give tube feeding. Need to take around 50ml each time, may be once in 4 hours also.
