The blood tests you sent are fine. Can you make sure you have a blood sugar test (HbA1C) as you ended up with infection after some scratching and also a CBP checked (as you are taking Linezolid). All the best. J G S R

Linezolid is a second line drug with huge side effects. So you better not start linezolid on your own. You can go for coamyclav 625 mg thrice daily for that matter. Maintain local hygiene and blood test for Fasting blood sugar and post prandial blood sugar is to be performed. Your liver function test is normal as of now.

More than lft, you need blood sugar. Get complete blood count and random  blood sugar , Hba1c done and share results. Complete the course of linezolid. Take tab monteleukast 10mg one daily for 7 days. Tab cetrizine 5mg one morning and one evening for 7 days. Apply zinc calamine lotion locally twice daily over itchy parts, povidone ointment over wounds. Share if you have any other symptoms like numbness. If you take tobacco in any form,  stop it. Avoid scratching with nails, you can use a soft cotton cloth or just neem leaves to scratch it.

Your LFT report is completely normal. There is no sign of liver damage, infection, or jaundice. About Your Foot Wounds (15 Days + Itching → Wounds) Based on your description: • Itchy skin → next day wound • 3 wounds present for 15 days • You started Linezolid 600 mg This pattern is commonly seen in: Bacterial skin infection (impetigo, cellulitis) Eczema with secondary infection Fungal infection → scratching → bacterial infection Diabetic foot infections (if sugar is high) Linezolid is a strong antibiotic used for MRSA-like infections, but it should ideally be started only after a doctor’s examination.
Next Steps
1. Check blood sugar (very important) Non-healing foot wounds for 2 weeks strongly suggest: • High fasting sugar • High HbA1c Please test: • Fasting Blood Sugar • PP Sugar • HbA1c 2. Wound care • Clean with saline twice daily • Apply Mupirocin (T-Bact) ointment • Keep the area dry • Avoid scratching 3. When to see a doctor immediately If you notice: • Increasing redness • Pus • Fever • Blackish skin • Spreading wound • Pain increasing
Health Tips
Linezolid is not routinely prescribed without evaluation because: • It can cause low blood counts • It interacts with many medicines • It’s usually reserved for resistant infections Better antibiotic choices for simple skin infections: • Amoxiclav • Cefuroxime • Doxycycline But this must be decided after physical examination.
