Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician (Ex Govt Medical Officer at RML Hospital, New Delhi), and your case has been allotted to me. Thank you for sharing your child’s symptoms. I understand your concern. Based on the history of 7 loose motions and 4 episodes of vomiting, this most likely suggests acute gastroenteritis (stomach infection), which is common in children. At present, the main risk is dehydration, so early care is very important. ⸻ What you should do immediately • Start ORS (oral rehydration solution) frequently in small sips • Give coconut water, rice water, or clear fluids • Continue light diet like khichdi, banana, curd • Do not give oily or outside food ⸻ Medicines that can help • Zinc supplementation for 10 to 14 days • Probiotics may help • Anti vomiting medicine only if prescribed ⸻ Monitor closely • Urine output • Activity level • Ability to drink fluids ⸻ When to consult a doctor immediately • If child is unable to drink or keeps vomiting everything • If there is lethargy, sunken eyes, or no urine • If fever or blood in stool appears ⸻ Important advice Since frequency is already high, I would strongly recommend a physical evaluation by a pediatrician today to assess hydration status and avoid complications. ⸻ For guidance on exact dosing and monitoring at home, you can reach out to me directly on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven. Wishing your child a quick recovery. Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician

• A 7-year-old with 7 loose stools + 4 vomiting episodes + stomach ache is most likely acute gastroenteritis, commonly viral
Next Steps
Immediate management (at home): • Start ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) – Give small sips frequently (2–3 teaspoons every 5–10 min) – After each loose stool → extra ORS • For vomiting: – If persistent, doctor may prescribe Ondansetron syrup • For gut recovery: – Probiotic (if available) Diet: • Continue light food: – Rice, khichdi, curd, banana • Avoid: oily, spicy, junk food When to see doctor urgently: • Unable to keep fluids down • Very low urine / no urine for 6–8 hrs • Lethargy / drowsiness • Blood in stool • Fever >101°F
Health Tips
• Do NOT stop feeding completely • Continue breastfeeding (if applicable) • Maintain hygiene (hand washing) • Zinc supplementation (10–14 days) helps recovery

Drink plenty of water and keep sipping ORS. Eat very light food like soups or khichidi. Get plenty of rest. He will be alright if he doesn't get better and has a high fever. You take him to a hospital for physical examination. Do not give fruit juices, sugar sodas, sports drinks, high sugar can worsen diarrhoea. Avoid spicy, oily, or fatty foods.
