Lipid profile
Hello Doctor, I recently got my lipid profile test done. My triglycerides are 272 mg/dL, total cholesterol is 238 mg/dL, LDL is 150 mg/dL, and HDL is 33.5 mg/dL. I am planning for pregnancy and I also have an ovarian cyst. Can you please suggest: Do I need medication or only lifestyle changes? Is it safe to take supplements like Kapiva Cholestrofit or Omega-3? What diet and precautions should I follow? Thank you.

Moderately high lipids. Prefer lifestyle correction first, especially since you are planning pregnancy. Omega-3 can help, but avoid self-medication. Since this needs proper planning before conception, I would strongly suggest a consultation so I can guide you with a safe, step by step plan tailored for you.

Viewing the age and ur lipid profile which is deranged and a known case of ovarian cyst planning for a pregnancy, i would suggest u to for a gynae/obs consultation, who will help u in the best way possible in this case after a detailed history. Though from my side , i would definitely suggest u to go for certain tests and lifestyle changes to help in this scenario: * Pelvic ultrasound to rule out nature and size of cyst * Thyroid profile * Fasting blood sugar * HbA1c levels Start working on some measures : * Weight reduction * Regular exercise * Optimal sleep * Reduction in stress * Healthy diet * Also start folic acid supplementation I won't suggest to blindly take any medications like cholestrofit without proper history and examination.
Next Steps
Go for a gynae/obs consultation.

Your lipid profile shows moderately elevated Triglycerides (272 mg/dL) and LDL (150 mg/dL), with low HDL (33.5 mg/dL). Since you are planning for pregnancy, the management strategy changes significantly. Conventional cholesterol-lowering medications like Statins are strictly avoided during pregnancy planning. Your focus should be on therapeutic lifestyle changes and pregnancy-safe supplements to optimize your metabolic health
Next Steps
Medication vs. Lifestyle: At this stage, lifestyle changes are preferred over heavy medication. I recommend 45 minutes of brisk walking daily and a strict 'Heart-Healthy' diet.
