As the surgery he has undergone .. due to blood loss and lack of nut absorbtion there is chances of been anemic.
There no such diet which is rich in iron. U need to need gve iron supplement. As far diet is concern work on iron absorption nutrients like vitc and ample amnt of water. Gv him small and frequent meals.

Hello as your father has under give through splenectomy he would have tendency to be anaemic. But for that you cab increase the intake if food rich in iron, folate, protien which will help in formation of RBC. Try to incorporate dates, black raisins, dried figs, pomegranate, apple, green leafy vegetables.
If you can eat non vegetarian foods give eggs, chicken.
