not recommended to take steroid without an indication. please trust your doctor and do ask him the indication of steroid use. It is beneficial in a lot of cases but clear cut indications for same has been prescribed. You can continue your daily activities after 24 hours of injection. Getting injections yearly or monthly or fortnightly depends on the clinical severity, response to steroid and indication of giving it. As far as cost is concerned, injection costs 100 INR and the cost of getting it might vary at different hospitals and expertise of the doctor.
