Knee pain when bending knee
Got kicked on the outside of my knee by a cow 9 weeks ago. Had a lot of swelling , went to the ER where they did 4 xrays. I knew nothing was broke. 2 days later an orthopedic doctor took 6 more xrays and said nothing was wrong. My question is , would an xray show ligament damage. Still a lot of pain.

No. A xray cannot show the clear picture of ligaments or meniscus which might be injured.
Next Steps
Better to get a MRI done for detailed view.

If the x-rays show no bony injury yet you have pain you could have 1. Soft tissue injury around the knee which takes around 2-3 weeks to heal 2. You may have ligament injury which obviously will not be diagnosed on xrays. You will need an mri of the knee.
Next Steps
Wait for 2 weeks post injury. Reassess clinically for knee ligaments damage. If all OK. Nothing to do. If pain still persists after swelling has come down, go for MRI
Health Tips
Avoid running or heavy activities. Give rest to the knee as much as possible
