Namastey
Persistent or worsening Knee pain after 18 days of treatment can happen for several reasons. Sometimes the underlying condition itself may be more severe or chronic than initially expected, while in some cases certain therapies, excessive manipulation, strong exercises, improper oil application, or aggressive procedures may temporarily aggravate inflammation and stiffness instead of relieving it. Difficulty sitting with knees bent at 90 degrees and inability to walk for more than 20â30 minutes suggests that the joint is still irritated or under strain and should not be ignored.
It is important to understand that not every Ayurvedic treatment suits every stage of joint pain. The choice of therapy depends on whether the condition is more inflammatory, degenerative, muscular, ligament-related, or associated with swelling and stiffness. If treatment is not individualized properly, symptoms may temporarily worsen. However, this does not necessarily mean Ayurveda itself is harmfulâit may simply indicate that the treatment approach or timing was not ideal for your condition.
Next Steps
Avoid forcing the knee through prolonged walking, stair climbing, squatting, or sitting continuously in bent-knee positions for long durations right now. Give the joint some relative rest while maintaining gentle movement within comfort limits. Do not immediately continue repeated aggressive therapies if your symptoms are clearly worsening. Observe whether there is swelling, warmth, stiffness, or instability around the knee and seek reassessment from an experienced clinician rather than continuing the same routine blindly. Since your symptoms have functionally worsened after treatment and are now affecting daily activities, a detailed evaluation of your knee condition and treatment response is important before deciding the next step. Health Tips
Avoid excessive strain, sudden twisting movements, and prolonged sitting with folded knees. Maintain healthy body weight and include gentle stretching or guided strengthening only if comfortable. Warm compresses, proper posture, regular sleep, and anti-inflammatory dietary habits may help support recovery. Joint healing often requires a balanced and gradual approach rather than overly aggressive treatment. Thank you
