Hello, Do not panic. Increase in blood sugar is usually common after surgery due to the release of stress factors. Although, it is very important to control these levels as the patient might go into ketoacidosis. Did your father have a history of diabetes before surgery?

Your father is suffering from hyperglycemia . Until blood glucose less than 200 don't go for any surgical procedure .
