My GP gave me Golbi 300 for my elevated bilirubin and i was already on thyronorm but ever since i started Golbi I got constipated and gassy, i took ishabgol but the night i forget no movement next day even when I strain. I eat normal meal with good fiber intake, when I asked him about this he upped the Golbi dose to twice daily and livoluk twice.
He said it wasnt enough before.

If this is your baseline lft and your only comorbidity being hypothyroidism, you can stop golbi 300 as it is not required as of now. See if the constipation resolves after stopping golbi . If it still persists you can take either isabghol or livoluk syrup as per your suitability. Continue thyronorm tab .

Hi,
Proper evaluation and personalised advice are needed for your concern. A detailed consultation would be best to provide accurate guidance.
Feel free to consult me for further assistance.
Constipation and gas are side effects that can occur with Golbi 300 (UDCA). If your bilirubin elevation was mild and you are now experiencing significant quality-of-life issues from the medication, it's reasonable to ask your doctor to review the test reports and reassess whether the dose or the medication itself is truly necessary in your case.
Next Steps
Discuss your symptoms and the test reports with your GP at the next visit to decide if the dose needs adjustment. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
