Fractured 5th metatarsal. Is removed?

Control  Hypertension, Diabetes or any other metabolic disorder, if there is  any. Any way it may be tried, --. Dolokind Plus (Mankind) [Aceclofenac100 mg +Paracetamol 350 mg] 1 tab. OD & SOS. X 5 days. --. Caldikind plus  (Mankind) 1 tab OD x 10 days. (You may need help of your local doctor to get these medicines.) --. Fomentation with warm water. Let the part not be exposed to cold. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. --. Use no pillow under the head. --. Avoid painful acts & activities. -- .Do mild exercises for  foot and ankle. --.Avoid walking on uneven ground. --.use a elastic anklet while walking. --.(Take help of a  physiotherapist). --Do not ignore, let it not become beginning of a major problem. --Do ask for a detailed treatment plan. These fractures are troublesome to heal and give you grief until and unless you follow strict precautions from your doctor .I did foot and ankle clinics for nearly 2 years in England and I can understand your grief. I would personally operate on them with screws before it is too late though it can be treated nonoperatively followed by long term morbidity.. Normally it should heal by itself at your age group at the same time you have to be patient for next 3 to 4 months avoiding twisting your ankle and walk in straight line bcoz of the direct tendon pull on this fragment .
