Hi..I am really not sure when my OCD/ Anxiety has extremely increased. I feel it all started with the cleanliness bit as a kid and now it is very different. Few instances are following rituals to make sure everything goes right, also doing everything in a sequence, avoiding words which are negative or getting triggered when I hear them or read, if I have done something in a specific manner and then the 2nd time in a different manner I start getting too anxious thinking that I did not do right or what is going to happen, getting triggered when I hear someone us passes away and then get more worried about my own health and loved ones, always thinking about what if and worried about uncertainties, few instances like with closed ones I have done for the first time, may be never gifted them or hugged them but done it for the first time I think in a different manner like what is going to happen etc. There are others things that I am going through and it is very tormenting. Pls help ..

Thank you for sharing this so openly. What you are describing fits very closely with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with high anxiety, especially the forms driven by fear of uncertainty, harm, death, and “doing things the right way.”
OCD often changes its theme over time. Many people start with cleanliness or checking behaviors in childhood, and later it shifts into mental rituals, avoidance of certain words, fear-linked meanings, repetitive sequences, and intense “what if” thoughts. The anxiety you feel when something is done differently, when you hear certain words, or when you think about loss or death is not because those events will happen, but because OCD attaches false meaning and responsibility to your thoughts and actions.
It is important to know this clearly:
These thoughts do not reflect reality, intention, or prediction. They are intrusive thoughts driven by anxiety, not signs or warnings.
The distress, guilt, and constant mental checking you describe are common in OCD and can feel extremely tormenting, but they are treatable.
Next Steps
Consult a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist experienced in OCD.
Evidence-based treatment like CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is highly effective for OCD.
If symptoms are severe, medication (SSRIs) alongside therapy can significantly reduce intensity.
Begin learning to tolerate uncertainty rather than trying to neutralize or “fix” thoughts.
Avoid reassurance-seeking and repeated mental checking, as these strengthen OCD over time.
Health Tips
Do not fight, suppress, or analyze the thoughts. That fuels the cycle.
Thoughts are not actions, predictions, or truths.
Avoid self-blame. OCD is not a weakness or a personality flaw.
If anxiety feels overwhelming or you experience hopelessness, please seek immediate professional support.
Hi go for clinical intervention and clear your diagnosis when your diagnosis done. you will start your therapies or medication according your condition as soon as possible.
Hello
It does strongly reflects OCD with anxiety, where the mind links safety to rituals, sequences, words, and “doing things right.” Over time, the focus shifts—from cleanliness to health fears, death-related triggers, first-time actions, and constant “what if” thinking. The anxiety isn’t because something bad will happen, but because your brain has learned to fear uncertainty and demands control to feel safe, which becomes exhausting and distressing.
The relief you get from rituals or avoidance is temporary, and that’s how OCD keeps growing. With therapy, especially CBT-based work, you can learn to tolerate uncertainty, stop responding to compulsions, and reduce the power these thoughts and triggers have over you. This is very treatable, and you don’t have to live in this constant fear loop. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.
Hi,
It sounds like you are going through a very challenging and distressing time with increasing OCD and anxiety symptoms that are impacting your daily life. Your experiences of rituals, needing things to be done in specific ways, intense worry about negative words or events, and fears about health and uncertainties are common in OCD and anxiety disorders. These thoughts and behaviors can be overwhelming and tormenting, making it difficult to find peace. Itâs very important to seek professional help from a mental health expert, such as a psychologist or psychiatrist, who can provide a proper diagnosis and guide you through effective treatment options like therapy (especially cognitive-behavioral therapy) and possibly medication. Remember, you are not alone, and with the right support, you can learn to manage these symptoms and find relief. Please consider reaching out to a healthcare provider as soon as possible.
Hi...You need clinical intervention to overcome your presenting issues and be able to deal with your core issues. OCD and Anxiety at this stage requires a proper medical diagnosis and medications along with regular therapy sessions. Anything in-between is not going to help. It will take 3-4 months of weekly sessions to get hold to your presenting issues and 6-8 months of weekly sessions to be able to manage them efficiently. Complete recovery takes more time which varies from case to case (1-2 years typically). Simple clinical interventions and support has a potential to change your condition drastically. Please be consistent with your treatment.
