Hello, Enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a common condition in older men. A grade 3 prostate enlargement with a weight of 52 grams is considered moderate. The decision to opt for surgery depends on the severity of symptoms, the response to medication like Prostagard D8, and the potential risks or benefits of continuing medical therapy versus surgical intervention. If your father is responding well to the medication and not experiencing significant symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary retention, or infections, he might continue with the medical treatment. However, surgery may be considered if there is no improvement or if symptoms worsen. It's essential to monitor the condition regularly and adjust the treatment plan based on his progress. Please consult me for a more detailed evaluation and to decide the best course of action. Alternatively, you can reach out to me on eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two for further discussion. Best regards.
