No need to clean the wax fully when it doesn't cause any problems. If your son's ear wax is very dry in consistency you could use wax softening ear drops. Our body has it's own mechanism to eliminate excess wax.

You can clean your outer ear part on a daily basis after a bath.
But for inside impacted wax you need to instill ear drops.
Soli-wax ear Drops 5-5-5-5 (Five ear drops in each ear with wax for at least 4 times a day).
Drops should be instilled in a lying down position with the side in which you are putting drops facing upwards.
After putting drops be on the same side for at least 10 min and push your tragal part in & out to make sure your drops will go deep to the ear canal.
Repeat the same procedure on the opposite side.

Once it is done u may get it cleaned by a nearby ENT surgeon.

Don't put any stick or ear buds in the ear canal deeply to clean the wax.
By doing so u might hurt your ear drums.
