You can stay assured about rabies because it doesn't spread via food but wash your food or cook properly to kill all germs. Salads and fruits must be properly washed. There are many other diseases spread via food most common typhoid, hepatitis A, worms.

Good morning. There is no need to worry until and unless the family member was bitten by a dog or another canine species. But, to prevent food poisoning, wash your vegetables from next time.

There’s nothing to worry. Rabies does not spread by consuming contaminated food.

No. Rabies cannot spread through eating street food or touching contaminated surfaces. The virus does not survive once saliva dries and is destroyed by heat, sunlight, and cooking. Transmission occurs only through bite/scratch with fresh saliva entering a wound or mucosa. No risk to you or your family No need for ARV or vaccination
Next Steps
Normal hand hygiene is sufficient

Don't panic Rabies does NOT spread through street food, even if stray dogs wander around or eat leftovers. Rabies spreads only through saliva of an infected animal entering the body via: Bite Scratch Saliva contact with open wounds or mucous membranes (eyes, mouth) It does not spread through: Eating food touched or eaten by dogs Contaminated plates, water, or leftovers Air, smell, or casual contact

Rabies virus is not transmitted through food. Transmission requires direct contact with saliva or neural tissue from a rabid animal through bites, scratches, or contamination of open wounds or mucous membranes. There is no risk of rabies transmission in the described scenario, and no medical intervention is necessary.

No. The virus can penetrate the skin only if there is some injury to the skin and the virus is injected during the dog bite. So it is not transmitted from the road.

Dont worry,it wont spread through street food. when the skin is ruptured through bite or scratch, or when the animal saliva comes in contact with open wounds,or mucous membranes such as mouth ,eyes and nose ,only then the virus spreads.
