Since you work in animal husbandry, you are in a high-risk occupation for rabies exposure. If your last full vaccination course was 100 days ago, and you now have a new cat bite, you do not need the full course again. You only need a booster schedule: • 2 doses of rabies vaccine • On Day 0 (today) and Day 3 There is no risk of overdose from these booster doses. Modern rabies vaccines are very safe, even if taken multiple times.
Next Steps
For the current bite: Immediately: 1. Wash the wound with soap and running water for 10–15 minutes. 2. Apply povidone iodine or antiseptic. Vaccination: • Take 2 booster doses: • Day 0 (today) • Day 3 No rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) is needed because: • You were previously vaccinated. • Your last course was recent.
Health Tips
• People in high-risk jobs can safely receive multiple boosters over their lifetime. • There is no fixed maximum number of rabies vaccine doses. • Some high-risk workers even take routine antibody titre checks every 6–24 months and only take boosters when needed. • Always wash any bite or scratch immediately. You are already well protected, and with the simple 2-dose booster, the risk of rabies becomes practically zero.

Yes sir, you can take ARV again. Because you work in animal husbandry and have repeated exposure, this small cat bite today is still a risk and should not be ignored.
Next Steps
Wash the wound immediately with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes Apply povidone-iodine / antiseptic
