Discomfort below right rib, gas, burning
I have been experiencing discomfort and mild pain in the upper right abdomen for the past six months, along with symptoms of gas and belching. Due to persistent symptoms, I underwent an endoscopy, which showed findings suggestive of gastritis. The impression was esophagitis with pangastritis, and testing indicated that I am positive for H. pylori infection. Additionally, I have also undergone an ultrasound, which showed Grade 1 fatty liver. Currently, I am on medication, and my doctor has advised starting a Pylo Kit for eradication of H. pylori. However, before initiating the Pylo Kit, I have been prescribed preliminary medication (Esomeprazole and other supportive drugs) to stabilize my condition. After completing this initial course, I will begin the Pylo Kit treatment as advised. I have experienced some relief with medication, but I still do not feel complete comfort and continue to have intermittent symptoms.

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician (Ex Govt Medical Officer at RML Hospital, New Delhi), and your case has been allotted to me. Thank you for explaining your condition in detail. I understand your concern. Based on your reports and history, your symptoms are due to a combination of: • H. pylori associated gastritis and esophagitis • Acidity related symptoms (belching, discomfort) • Grade 1 fatty liver The key issue here is H. pylori infection, which requires complete eradication therapy for long term relief. ⸻ What you should do now • Continue the current medicines (PPI and supportive drugs) as advised • Start the Pylo Kit exactly as prescribed and complete the full course • Do not stop treatment midway even if symptoms improve ⸻ Lifestyle measures • Avoid spicy, oily, and outside food • Avoid alcohol and smoking • Eat small frequent meals • Do not lie down immediately after eating ⸻ Important points • Mild symptoms may persist during treatment this is common • Full relief usually occurs after completion of H. pylori eradication • Fatty liver Grade 1 is reversible with diet and exercise ⸻ When to consult a doctor immediately • If pain becomes severe • If vomiting, weight loss, or black stools occur • If no improvement after full treatment ⸻ Important reassurance You are already on the correct line of treatment. Once H. pylori is eradicated, most of your symptoms will significantly improve. ⸻ For detailed follow up planning and diet guidance, you can reach out to me directly on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven. Wishing you a smooth recovery. Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
