Antibiotic-associated diarrhea happens because antibiotics kill beneficial gut bacteria along with the harmful ones, disrupting your digestive balance. Most cases are mild and stop when you finish your medication.
However, if it’s severe or accompanied by a fever, it can be clostridium infection which needs further management.

Post antibiotic diarrhoea usually subsides by itself, maybe taking a bit longer in your case. Take soft diet. Keep yourself well hydrated and continue econorm.
Post-antibiotic diarrhea after Cifran OZ is quite common â the antibiotic significantly disrupts the normal gut bacteria and the gut takes time to recover. Econorm is the right choice but can take 5-7 days to show a clear effect, so it is worth continuing. Eating a very bland diet (plain rice, curd, bananas, toast), avoiding dairy, raw vegetables, and spicy or oily food, and staying well-hydrated with ORS or water will help your gut heal faster. Most cases resolve within a week of finishing the antibiotic course.
