Diabetes dose modification
I have been detected with diabetes 2 month back . since then I have controlled my diet and also lost 4 kg , my BMI came down to 26.6 from 28 . My HBA1C has come at 9.4% , hence doctors here has prescribed me 2000mg metformin. But I am having some issues with loose motion. can I reduce my dose to 1000 mg . Also I heard that too much metformin might affect my kidneys too . Please advise

Dear Metformin dose can be changed to sustained release or modified release Also u may need glimipiride combinations..as your hba1c is still high
