Diabetes at 24
I have diabetes, my hbA1c was 7 when I was diagnosed. It is 6 now. Haven't taken any medicines but have brought about lifestyle changes. At my age can it be a misdiagnosed type 1 diabetes (my parents were not diabetic) but my maternal and paternal uncle both are diabetic. Also can you have low blood sugar with diabetes. My body gets tired and sleepy and shaky and numb early in the morning. Please help.

The most likely diagnosis in you would be type 2 diabetes. Type 1 is unlikely. Blood sugar levels can reach lower limits of normal in early diabetics/ prediabetics. But your symptoms would still need to be investigated.

It can not be type 1 definitely. MODY is unlikely as you are not giving history of diabetes in successive generation. If you are obese/overweight it is mostly type 2 diabetes. With only lifestyle modifications difficult to have low blood sugar unless u r doing something wrong. For your weakness etc you need to see a doctor/diabetologist.

It's little tricky in that situation. You might need to get tested before labelling it either. You maybe MODY as well. Please reach out to a doctor for explaination.
