diabetes is a life long chronic condition ,once developed it can be managed by lifestyle modification ,exercise and diet.there are no known medicines that can cure it but if you have started any type of medicine please check blood sugar 6 times a day before and 2 hr after meals and if your before is less than 125 and after less than 200 then your med is working.

If diabetes is well managed and blood sugar levels are well controlled, you can go a long way in preventing complications of diabetes. Making the necessary modifications in your diet, adopting a regular exercise routine and taking appropriate medications (depending your blood glucose levels) are vital to long term diabetes control. There are some cases of borderline diabetes who can be controlled without medications if lifestyle interventions are started at the right time.
