Sharp throat pain on yawning triggering cough with breathing difficulty and vomiting suggests epiglottitis, laryngopharyngeal reflux, or a pharyngeal nerve issue — none of these should be ignored. Book a paid consult with me today; you likely need a throat examination, laryngoscopy referral and possibly chest X-ray to rule out anything serious.

A cough lasting this long along with wheezing, throat pain and difficulty breathing should not be ignored 👍 This can happen with airway irritation, allergy, infection or bronchospasm and usually improves well once the exact cause is identified. Please consult soon so your chest and throat symptoms can be assessed properly and the right treatment can be started before it worsens further.

The symptoms may be due to throat irritation/infection, allergic airway disease, or cough-related bronchospasm. Sharp throat pain followed by severe coughing and breathing difficulty with wheezing sensation should not be ignored, especially if associated with vomiting after coughing. Clinical examination is needed to assess throat, chest, and breathing status properly.
Next Steps
Consult a physician/ENT specialist for physical examination. You may require throat examination and chest evaluation, and depending on findings, tests such as CBC, throat assessment, chest examination, or pulmonary evaluation may be advised. If breathing difficulty becomes severe, persistent, or occurs even at rest, seek urgent medical attention.
Health Tips
Stay well hydrated, avoid smoking/dust/cold irritants, and avoid very cold beverages if they worsen symptoms. Steam inhalation and warm fluids may provide temporary relief. Immediate medical attention is needed if there is high fever, chest pain, bluish discoloration, noisy breathing, or worsening shortness of breath.
