Sir the cough can be dry or with phlegm. The syrup you are taking will help you to get rid of phlegm. If you have been diagnosed by your doctor as viral infection then it may take 3to 4 days for recovery. But if the fever is running for more then 5-6 days you need to go back to your doctor and ask if you require RTPCR.
