Blood pressure is 140/90
Hello doctor,. My wife aged 63 us having blood pressure reading.of 140/90 and she is taking amlokind 2.5 mg . Our doctor is saying 140/90 is Normal at this age and asked.to continue amlokind 2.5 mg . could you please help to assist like is this is okay at this age

Her BP is within normal limits. No need to worry But i would advise u to change medication to Some other anti hypertensive as amlodipine is usually associated with ankle/ leg swelling which isn't good for this age

Digital bp apparatus is not accurate. Check your BP in supine position for better results. You bp is within normal limits no need to worry. Continue your treatment. Reduce your salt intake. Reduce your caffeine intake. Avoid spicy and oily food. Drink plenty of water. Start some physical exercises on a regular basis. Go for morning and evening walks. Don't take stress.
