Better Option- Clonazepam or Librium
Dear Dr, I am taking clonazepam 0.5mg in the morning and night. Dr has suggested to take Librium 10 mg morning and night. Is this a better option for Anxiety, Please suggest.

These medications are not the first choice for anxiety. They will make you sedated in the day time and cause dependence. We don't want one problem trying to solve another. Please take a second opinion. There are better medications available. One can even try psychotherapy.

Hi.. both are benzodiazepines. Although they help to decrease anxiety they are not definitive treatment. You may need a Ssri. Consult online for treatment

Libriun acts for shorter duration and mainly used in cases of alcohol addiction to treat alcohol withdrawal sleep difficulty,clonazepam tablet is better than librium for cases of anxiety and panics,it gives relief for longer duration.

Consult psychiatrist regarding your doubts related to benzodiazepines(group of medicines you are taking right now)..as chances of habit formation are there in some of the benzodiazepines

Hey, clonazepam or librium both are benzodiazepens. Both are used for anxiety and sleep, and the Doctor prescribes the medication according to the patient profile and considering the other conditions the patient is having. So, no drug is better than other
