A ayurvedic practitioner prescribed me stressan tablets plus shatavri + saraswati rishta for treating menopausal anxiety . I am 3.5 years into after menopause state but still have ocd and anxiety. For menopause anxiety and ocd it worked great but saraswati rishta started creating skin rash. So it got replaced with brahmi vati but this combination lacked the calmness i enjoyed with saraswati risht.
So i changed stressan tabs and started sumenta + shatavri. I feel very calm yet drowsy since morning as i take the tabs twice just like stressan. But when, earlier I took nexito 5mg a few months before switching to ayurvedic tabs, with sumenta I felt same the nexito kind of drowsy or zombieness . Is sumenta more powerful than stressan? Should i use it to treat menopausal anxiety?

Due to the hot season saraswat arisht is causing rashes… so stop taking arisht and i ll suggest to take first line of treatment replacing saraswat arisht with syrup shankhpushpi if brahmi is not suiting you. Rest remains same.

It is encouraging that you have observed improvement in your anxiety symptoms with Ayurvedic treatment. However, the fact that you are experiencing significant daytime drowsiness, a "zombie-like" feeling, or reduced alertness after starting Sumenta suggests that your body may be responding differently to this formulation than it did to Stressan. A medicine that makes you feel excessively sedated is not necessarily "stronger" or "better"âit may simply have a more calming or sedative effect in your particular case.
Menopausal anxiety, especially when accompanied by OCD symptoms, can be complex and may be influenced by hormonal changes, sleep quality, stress levels, personality traits, and long-standing anxiety patterns. The ideal treatment should help you feel calmer while still allowing you to remain mentally clear, active, and functional throughout the day. If a formulation improves anxiety but causes troublesome daytime sedation, it may require reassessment of the dosage, timing, or overall treatment strategy.
Next Steps
Since you noticed a meaningful difference between Stressan and Sumenta, it would be advisable to discuss these observations with the practitioner who prescribed the treatment rather than continuing to adjust medications on your own. The fact that Saraswatarishta provided good symptom relief but caused a skin rash is also an important clinical detail that should be considered when planning future treatment. Keep track of your anxiety levels, sleep quality, daytime energy, concentration, and mood while taking the current regimen. This information can help determine whether the benefits outweigh the drowsiness or whether adjustments are needed. Health Tips
Maintain a regular sleep schedule, engage in daily physical activity, and practice relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, or breathing exercises. Limit excessive caffeine intake and ensure adequate hydration. During the postmenopausal years, emotional well-being often benefits from a combination of structured routines, stress management, social engagement, and appropriate therapeutic support. The goal should be to achieve calmness and emotional stability without excessive daytime sleepiness or impairment in daily functioning. Thank you
Stressan is likely the better choice as it is specifically marketed as non drowsy and aims to reduce "morning grogginess" and mental fatigue.
Sumenta contains Tagar, a heavy sedative that likely caused your "Nexito-like" drowsiness.
Stresan’s blend of Brahmi and Shankhapushpi is designed to provide cognitive uplift and "calm alertness," which is closer to the feeling you had with Saraswatarishta. Both help, but Stresan’s emphasis on brain-nourishing herbs (Jyotishmati) is often preferred in Ayurveda for the intrusive thoughts associated with OCD.

Health Tips
If you feel too drowsy in the morning, consult your practitioner about the shifting dose of sumanta at night or reducing the morning dose.
Since Saraswatarishta gave you a rash, start Stresan slowly. It is generally safer for Pitta (skin) than fermented tonics, but always monitor your skin for the first 3–5 days.
