Yes, it’s safe to take injection tablets and ointment together as prescribed. They are given to control infection, inflammation, and symptoms simultaneously. Don’t skip or mix doses on your own. Since your wound is red, painful, and draining, proper follow up is important. Please book a consultation so we can monitor healing and adjust treatment if needed.
"The progression from simple dryness to a draining wound with yellow discharge, pulsating pain, and systemic symptoms (fever and body ache) indicates a Secondary Bacterial Infection or Cellulitis. The clinical decision to administer both an injectable loading dose (Gentamicin + Betnesol) and oral medication (Claribid + Wysolone) is an aggressive 'attack' protocol designed to rapidly halt the spread of infection and reduce acute inflammation
Next Steps
Complete the Antibiotic Course: Ensure the full course of Claribid is finished, even if the fever disappears and the wound looks dry. This prevents bacterial recurrence and resistance.
Leg Elevation: Keep the affected foot elevated above heart level while resting to reduce the pulsating pain and facilitate drainage.
Local Hygiene: Keep the area dry. Apply the prescribed Flucort-N ointment as directed, but avoid airtight bandages that might trap moisture.
Monitor for Spreading: If you notice a red line extending up the leg or if the fever persists above 102°F, seek immediate emergency review.
So for that do connect and consult with me.....
