Wound not healing
Hi. I have a wound in my right leg beneath my knee. I first noticed it in July 2017 as a small wound when waterish sticky liquid used to come out of it. It was barely a cm that time. I didn't pay attention as small wounds are common in my life as I am an Ecologist and I do a lot of field work. It was in September when I noticed it turning black. I applied betnovate n and it started to heal but never completely. Now it's an inch big, black, itches & watery liquid & blood oozes out when I scratch.

you have ruined your wound by applying betnovate. betnovate contains a strong steroid which has interfered with the healing of your skin and made the infection also worse. PLEASE stop self medicating. Without examination of the skin condition and knowing the extent of involvement.. along with more information on ongoing medication or previous history of skin illness it is not possible to comment on the treatment that would suit you best. Please get the problem checked thoroughly by visiting a qualified dermatologist or you can send photograph of the wound for a private online consultation. Hope this is helpful.
