Hi, my gums were swollen around my wisdom tooth. I visited my dentist and he prescribed some antibiotics and analgesics along with a gel. I took those last night, but today it seems that the swelling hasn't decreased but also has some yellowish streaks on it. Should I consult my dentist again or should I continue with the prescribed medication??

There is a potential infection around your wisdom tooth. The antibiotics prescribed by your dentist must be potent to fight against the infection. It may also take some time to act few days preferably. If the condition aggravate then it’s a must that you see the doctor again. If there is swelling you might need to get an X-ray done of the wisdom tooth and plan an extraction if it is impacted. Taking antibiotics will suppress the infection temporarily but it may come back again later
