Hello Confirm baby is gaining weight appropriately. Ask about feeding frequency (ideally 8–12 times/day). Check for signs of effective breastfeeding (e.g. audible swallowing, wet diapers). At 5.5 months, breastmilk is still adequate as the main source of nutrition. Many mothers worry about milk supply even when it’s actually sufficient.
Next Steps
Frequent breastfeeding: Demand = Supply. Empty one breast completely before switching. Ensure proper latch and positioning. Encourage skin-to-skin contact. Adequate hydration and balanced diet. Ensure mother gets enough rest and emotional support.
Health Tips
Lactare granules / Galact granules / Shatavarex powder Dosage: 1–2 teaspoons (5–10 grams) twice daily Route: Orally, with a glass of warm milk or water Duration: 2–4 weeks or as needed

Lactation is increased by intake of increased fluids - milk, juices, soups and water. Avoid stressful situations. Take calcium and vitamin d supplements. If required iron supplements too Remember what you take, baby too is affected. Look after yourself, enjoy the time. All will fall n place! Exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months and supplementary feeds after 6 months. You have already reached a milestone.! Can continue breastfeeding till 2 years of age
