Child should have gained around 6 to 7.5kg ideally.
But not all indian child reach that ideal weight so need not to worry.
Be good in starting complementary feeds. Use protein rich food when starting top feeds after 6 months of age.
Introduce food in a step wise manner. Child are better with fixed routine instead of changing menu.
Food items that you can prefer are
Raab, shiro, ragi, dal rice, moong dal, sev etc
Give it like a paste or puree. Don't keep it totally watery. Most important, introduce in a step wise manner.
