I'm starting my weight loss journey. Putting together a plan before I jump in. This question is about my calorie maintenance level. It says it should be 5000 calories a day. I'm trying to lose weight, so I know that isn't healthy. If I go down to say, 2500, will that be fine, or is that not healthy? I'm trying to lose 2 pounds of fat a week.

I understand your concern. For healthy weight loss you have to exercise n burn calories along with you need to take the minimum calorie for your daily activities including your resting phase. That will help you to burn n shed kilos faster and in healthy way. It is recommended that you take balanced nutrition rather than a crash diet.
