A vitamin D level of 2.97 ng/mL is critically low (severe deficiency). At this level, what you are experiencing is very real and medically explainable, not “just in your head”. Severe vitamin D deficiency is strongly associated with: • Persistent fatigue & low energy • Low mood, depression-like symptoms • Irritability, anger, frustration • Anxiety, overthinking, negative thoughts • Poor stress tolerance • Body aches, heaviness, brain fog Vitamin D plays a role in brain neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine) and nervous system stability. When levels are this low, emotional dysregulation is common. So yes — this deficiency alone can cause what you are feeling.
Health Tips
• Tell yourself clearly: “This is a biochemical imbalance — not my personality.” • Mood swings during deficiency are temporary and reversible • Avoid big decisions while correcting levels • Reduce caffeine (can worsen irritability) • If thoughts become overwhelming or hopeless → seek support early, not late

Hello ma'am This value suggests a very low vitamin D level. It also suggests that you might have several other deficiencies along with it. Treatment for this condition alone is Cholecalciferol 60,000 IU for 12 weeks.
Next Steps
kindly investigate for other deficiencies like B12, Calcium, Hb, etc as mood swings and other negative feelings can be caused by many among them
Health Tips
it's better to consult someone for further management

Great to see that you sought help from the medical fraternity. You are having some symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency. But along with  this you are having some kind of mood disturbance. Existing 2 conditions together is making this unbearable for you. You can have Vitamin D correction. But you need to attend a Psychiatrist for analysing the mood disturbance and it will be worth addressing those issues simultaneously with addressing vitamin deficiency.
Next Steps
Vitamin D correction, detailed Psychiatrist evaluation for improving quality of life.
Health Tips
You are on the right track, to complete the process it is wise to meet a psychiatrist. At the end of the day it's the quality of your life that matters to you the most.

Hello, 2.97 is an extreme deficiency of vitamin D. You need to take Vitamin D injections every week for 4 weeks. Afterwards dose can be adjusted as per symptoms and Vitamin D levels. Additionally get other relevant blood investigations such as CBC, Vitamin B12, KFT, Blood sugar done if not checked already. Preferably opt for a physician consultation for proper evaluation of symptoms.
