Since she had bronchitis and has improved significantly, a mild dry cough only in early morning and evening—especially in winter—is very common. This usually happens due to airway sensitivity, cold air, or allergy, not infection, particularly when there is no mucus, fever, or breathlessness. In such cases, an anti-allergy medicine like Fexy-M / Allegra-M can be continued for a few more days, as it helps reduce airway irritation and allergy-related cough. It is generally safe when used for a short duration. Supportive care also helps: • Keep the chest and neck warm • Avoid cold air exposure • Lukewarm fluids If cough increases again, becomes productive, or is associated with fever or wheezing, re-evaluation is needed. For exact duration and dose confirmation, please contact me directly on Practo. Dr. RS Pankaj

Yes, what you are describing is very common after an episode of bronchitis, especially during winter. Even though the infection has resolved, the airways often remain hyper-reactive and sensitive for a few weeks. Cold air in the early morning and evening can trigger this residual dry cough. The absence of mucus, fever, breathlessness, or chest pain is reassuring and suggests post-infectious or allergic cough, not an active infection. You may safely continue an anti-allergic combination like Fexy-M or Allegra-M for another 7–10 days if the cough is bothersome, preferably taken in the evening. These medicines help by reducing airway allergy, post-nasal drip, and cough reflex sensitivity, especially in cold weather. There is no need to restart antibiotics or steroids since she has already improved well and there are no signs of ongoing infection. In addition, simple supportive measures such as avoiding cold air exposure, using a scarf or mask outdoors, taking warm fluids, and steam inhalation once daily can help settle the cough faster. If the cough persists beyond 2–3 weeks, worsens, or is associated with wheezing, breathlessness, or fever, then a follow-up with the treating doctor would be advisable to assess for asthma-like bronchial hyperreactivity. At present, continuing Fexy-M or Allegra-M for a few more days is appropriate and safe.
Health Tips
Do consult any physician in personal if there is breathlessness or symptoms do not resolve within 1week after treatment. Good luck and do contact in case of any dobt!

What you’re describing sounds more like leftover irritation or sensitivity rather than an active infection. In such situations, medicines from the anti-allergy and airway-relaxing drug classes are often used for short periods to control symptoms. If you’d like, we can also review this through an online consultation and decide calmly whether continuing makes sense
Next Steps
If the cough is mild, dry, and only at certain times of the day, continuing medicines from the anti-allergy class for a few more days is usually acceptable. The focus should be on symptom relief rather than restarting strong medicines. If cough starts increasing again, becomes continuous, or new symptoms appear, a doctor should recheck her.
Health Tips
Cold air can trigger cough, so keeping the neck and chest warm helps. Avoid very cold drinks and sudden exposure to low temperatures. If fever, breathlessness, chest discomfort, or cough with mucus returns, do not continue on your own—get medical advice.

Yes, you can continue for 5 days.An anti-allergic combination such as Fexy-M or Allegra-M can be continued for another 5–7 days, preferably once daily at night, if symptoms are bothersome. Warm fluids, avoiding cold air exposure, and using a scarf/mask outdoors can help reduce cough. Steam inhalation at night may provide additional relief. Consult for further management and evaluation.
