Varicocele is abnormal dilatation of testicular venous plexus( pampiniform plexus).it may due to idiopathic (without any known cause) majority of times.temperarure in testicular area is somewhat more due to this problem than required for testis for smooth functioning.
Problems may be dull aching pain at times esp. after prolong standing.and abnormality in sperm quality sometimes ( not always).sperm examination is also advisable to look for any abnormality.
General measures are avoidence of prolong standing, avoiding hot bath and measures causing more warmth in testicular region.
If significant sperm abnormality, higher grades of varicocele, persistent pain,
Varicocele repair is advisable.
