Uric acid rebound
I had high uric acid last month and took Febuxostat (Febutaz) continuously for about 30-40 days, after which my uric acid reduced to 4.7 mg/dL earlier it was 9.2. I stopped the medicine on 27 November, and after 20-25 days my uric acid has become elevated again. Why? I've been eating clean and strict diet food, completely veg protein, avoiding high purine food.

The rise in your uric acid levels after stopping febuxostat is likely due to a rebound effect, which is common when discontinuing urate-lowering therapies like this medication. Febuxostat works by inhibiting an enzyme (xanthine oxidase) involved in uric acid production, effectively suppressing levels while you're taking it. However, it doesn't eliminate the underlying cause of your hyperuricemia—such as overproduction of uric acid in the body (due to genetics, metabolic factors, or other conditions) or reduced excretion by the kidneys. Once the drug is stopped, production can resume at the previous high rate, leading to a re-increase in serum uric acid, often within 1-3 weeks.

It could be familial. Does anyone in your family have the same issue. Have a low protein diet and adequate hydration upto 3 lt per day. Treatment for hyperuricemia is usually long term. Continue your meds, lifestyle modification and hydration.

It is due to the genetic makeup of your body. You’ll have to continue Febustat in small doses even after uric acid levels are normal. Also avoid high protein diet. For further assessment you be can opt for a consultation with a physician.

Avoid high protein diet, alcohol. Certain medications also increase uric acid. Need detailed history too. And for febuxostat you have to keep taking it for uric acid to control. Moreover all elevated uric acid levels doesn’t need treatment. You can consult for further assistance

Your uric acid increased again because febuxostat controls uric acid only while you are taking it. It does not cure the underlying problem of uric acid over-production or reduced excretion. Once the drug is stopped, uric acid often rebounds within 2–4 weeks, even if diet is strict. Diet can reduce uric acid by only ~1 mg/dL
Next Steps
Restart urate-lowering therapy only after consulting a physician

This is very common and not a failure on your part. Your response to Febuxostat was excellent (9.2 → 4.7), which means the drug works — it just needs adequate duration.
