Under weight
Hi, My son is now 7month old and his weight is 6kg, his birth weight was 3kg and as per weight chart he seems under weight however he is very much active, sleeping well, passing motion twice a day and peeing sufficiently. I am sharing his diet plan of the day, please advice why weight is not increasing satisfactorily? Please suggest if any medication if required. Also suggest if I should offer him medication to kill stomach bactaria that we generally offer to babies after every 6 months. If yes then which one to be given? Morning 200ml ragi satva mixed with FM Breakfast fruit smash/ pulp Lunch - Moongdal khichadi Evening 150 ml FM Late evening - cerelac Night - moongdal khichadi Sometimes instead of cerelac I also offer him vegetable (potato, pumpkin, beatroot, carrot) smash. Current medication continued since birth - calcimax & vit D3 as prescribed

Your baby's weight is @3rd percentile  as per age ,which is not good. I don't find any nutritional issue as the deed and food you are giving is sufficient. He has to go for certain tests and require some suppliment. You consult some food pediatricians.

Hi, our child appears to be a healthy baby otherwise. How is his height? What about head size? If other parameters are normal I wouldn’t worry too much about weight just yet but closely monitor. The diet seems okay as well. You don’t seem to be giving iron supplements... I would start iron. No need of deworming at 7 months.
Next Steps
Start Iron supplements. Tonoferon drops 0.5 ml daily but 2-3 hours away from calcium
Health Tips
Monitor closely... if weight still doesn’t increase please consult

Dear parents, Weight is normal. According to me stop milk from 8amto8pm and give semisolid diet like Dal,dalia, khicdi alu kela rice, apple, upama, halwa, patolia, rab, kadi idle poha satu custard etc and from 80pmto8am give mother milk is preferable. To start with stop milk for 4hrs for 15days and give semisolid diet next 15days stop milk for 8hrs and give semisolid diet lastly stop milk from 8amto8pm and give semisolid diet l. For your knowledge 100ml milk gives 70calories of energy 100ml juices give 55calories of energy and 100gm of semisolid diet gives 350calories of energy . Cerelac is emergency food not routine diet. Milk and juice are now fancy items.
