Ultra-D3 syrup contains **1000 IU Vitamin D3 in 5 ml**.
For a **3-year-old child**, the usual maintenance requirement of Vitamin D is about **600 IU per day**.
So the practical dose would be:
* **3 ml once daily**
Important:
* Do not combine with other Vitamin D supplements at the same time.
* If the doctor prescribed it for **deficiency**, the dose may be different.
If you tell me the **child’s weight and whether it is for routine supplementation or deficiency**, I can guide more precisely.
I totally understand your concern. Before suggesting treatment, I would like to ask a few questions to ensure the correct management can be provided.

As the sun exposure is minimal in most situations, it is best to continue vitamin d3 supplement for children.
Give him 3ml once a day
Adequate sun exposure whenever possible
Next Steps
preferable to get a pediatrician's offline visit to check for signs of vitamin d deficiency, in which case he will need higher dosage
If baby has signs of vitamin D deficiency signs like( and serum Vitamin D 3 level is below 15) bone pain,swelling of wrist joint, frontal bossing (projected forehead ) then dose of vitamin D is 3000 iU per day (5 ml three times a day ) for 90 days For routine supplementation it is to be given as 800 per day... i. e 4 ml once a day.
You can give 2 ml daily as maintenance dose. However, vitamin D is not recommended daily for 3 year old child. Only if the measured vitD is low or dietary intake is inadequate or child has delayed milestones or repeated infections or child does not get adequate sun exposure, then only it is recommended.
