For vitamin D deficiency, Uprise D3 60K (cholecalciferol 60,000 IU) once weekly for 6–8 weeks is a standard therapeutic dose, not a high dose. This is used to correct deficiency quickly, followed by a maintenance dose (usually 600–1000 IU/day). It is safe if given only once weekly (not daily) and for a limited duration. Ensure adequate dietary calcium (milk, curd, paneer), otherwise vitamin D will not work effectively.
Regarding ferritin 29.3 ng/mL, this is borderline/low iron stores (even if Hb is normal). Livogen-Z (iron + folic acid + zinc) is appropriate. However, in children, iron dose should ideally be calculated by weight (3 mg/kg/day of elemental iron). Many times tablet formulations may give slightly higher iron than needed, so it is better to: Prefer pediatric iron syrup for accurate dosing, OR
Continue tablet only if dose matches weight, after pediatrician confirmation
Important advice:
Iron should be given on empty stomach or with vitamin C (like lemon water) for better absorption
Avoid giving with milk
Watch for mild side effects like black stools, constipation (common and not harmful)
How much is her Vitamin D3 level?
If less than 20 or kab value showing deficiency in their reference range. Give Uprise D3 once in every 2 weeks (fornightly) for 6 weeks.
Regarding ferritin, kindly share all the reports of iron profile and CBC once. And weight of the baby. According to that we can go ahead with iron prescription.
