Type 2 Diabetes
I'm a 58-year-old male, and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 5 years ago. I've been on oral medication since then, and am careful with what I eat and drink. I have my blood sugar levels checked every month, and the results, including cholesterol levels, have always been perfect. While I understand that there's no such thing as 'mild' diabetes, are some forms of type 2 more severe than others?

Its good as long as your sugars are well controlled , but i shall suggest you to get HBA1C which would actually depict the severity of the disease: 1. Hba1c between 6- 6.4, supposed to be of PRE DIABETES range which requires only life style modification as the main stay of treatment 2. hba1c of less than 8 suggest very poor control and requires modification in the treatment regimen
