Scratchy throat may be due to continuous coughing due to TB, only advise is to gargle with Betadine gardle 5ml with 5ml water three times a day.

scratchy or itchy throat can be caused by mild irritation from coughing due to TB OR environmental factors (like dryness or allergies). Treatment & Management 1. Continue TB Treatment. Adhere strictly to the anti-TB medication regimens prescribed by your doctor. Attend all follow-up appointments to monitor progress and manage side effects. 2. Throat Care Stay well-hydrated to soothe throat irritation (water, warm teas, soups). Gargle with warm saltwater to reduce throat irritation. Use throat lozenges or a mild cough suppressant if recommended by your doctor. Or consult with me. 3. Lifestyle Measures Ensure proper rest and balanced nutrition to support your immune system. Avoid irritants (like smoke, dust, strong chemicals) that can worsen throat dryness or coughing. Keep indoor air moist (using a humidifier if needed). 4. Watch for Changes Contact your doctor or consult with me, if the scratchiness worsens, if you develop new symptoms (fever, pain on swallowing, or swelling), or if you suspect side effects from TB medications.
