Visit a dental surgeon . It needs to be checked first and a x ray is required for the tooth. Mostly so much pain is due to caries which requires root canal treatment. Immediate access opening will remove your pain if tooth is in good condition.
Next Steps
if tooth is grossly decayed then only it should be extracted. if it is in good condition it can be saved by RCT.

Server tooth pain may occur either in extensive carious or infected tooth, in rare cases tooth fracture may also be a cause. Better not to get get it extracted as there are many good options available like RCT and Post with core build up.
Next Steps
Better to get an consultation and X-ray done
Health Tips
Apply clove at the infection side for the time being and get it checked asap.
