Your partner was negative and your tests at 14 and 21 days are also negative â that's quite reassuring. The cough you have now is most likely a simple seasonal cold or viral infection and has nothing to do with HIV. A common cold is not a sign of HIV infection, especially when your tests are negative. Just go ahead and complete your 45-day test to be fully sure. Try not to link every symptom to the exposure â it's usually just anxiety.
