My doctor prescribed 5 ml tasiron in the morning and 5 ml in the evening for my 16 month old baby. The bottles recommends only 5 ml a day. But the prescription says to take 10 ml a day. What to do?

The dose of any iron preparation is decided according to the weight of the child and the hemoglobin levels. In tasiron syp the dose of iron per 5 ml is very less 10 mg so the dose advised is fine. Nothing to worry about. The dose mentioned on the bottle is usually the lower limit of therapeutic range to avoid any overdose. So nothing to worry.

First of all, Trust the doctor
Give 10ml a day because in Tasiron syrup the elemental iron is very low so you need to give 10ml according to body weight
So give 10ml only
