Greetings! Once a thrombus is formed, it takes a week for the clot to recanalize and further breakdown Thrombophobe ointment is to reduce the swelling and pain caused by the inflammation of thromboses vein. Usual timing for the swelling and pain to reduce : 5-7 days Usual timing for the blood flow to resume : 7- 10 days Usual timing for the whole clot to dissolve: 2-3 weeks No need to worry. It is a common complication of IV cannulation. Thank you!
