You need go for vaccination if the skin is breached in any way. If it was lick on intact skin with no cuts, since it was dry skin, no need for vaccination. Otherwise you’ll have to consult a physician and go for the vaccination schedule.
Health Tips
Washing the area with soap and lots of water is recommended.

A dog licking dry skin on your leg does not put you at any risk for rabies, and you do not need any vaccination or treatment for this. Dry skin is still considered intact skin, and rabies can only spread if the dog’s saliva enters a fresh bleeding wound, a deep scratch, or a bite. Since there was no open wound, the virus cannot enter the body, and simple licking on the surface is medically classified as a zero-risk exposure. Washing the area with soap and water is more than enough. You do not need any rabies vaccine, booster, tetanus shot, or medicines. You are completely safe.

If the skin is intact (only dry, no cut, no crack, no bleeding, no raw area) → No rabies vaccination needed. Just wash with soap and water. If there is any crack, peeled area, or even a small wound → it becomes Category III exposure, and rabies vaccination is needed (but no RIG if the wound is old or minor). What you should do now: Check the area carefully – is there any break in the skin? If intact → You are safe. No vaccine needed. If broken → Start the rabies vaccine series as a precaution.
