Severe acne on jawline, cheeks and chin
I have oily and generally acne prone skin and used to get the occasional 2-3 acne during my periods which used to subside within 3-4 days by itself. However, for the last 2 and a half months I have been suffering from severe acne breakout that started on my chin and jawline which then spread to the cheeks as well as on the neck area around the ears. I haven't taken any medication for it but the same are just not subsiding. They are painful and pus filled. There has been no dietary or lifestyle changes nor have I started using any different or new products on my skin. I got my hormonal tests done as well a year back which came back normal. Kindly guide me as to what could be the reason behind this sudden stubborn breakout.

The treatment of acne differs according to the grade of involvement. Some people have more oilyness on the face which results in breakouts. After completing treatment for controlling the active breakouts, tablets can be stopped and creams need to be continued to prevent recurrence. Diet and lifestyle modifications are also important. Please don't do any self treatment such as over the counter Steroid creams. Don't burst the pimples with your fingers as it can result in ugly scars. The marks and pores left behind after the pimples heal can also be treated. Please call me or send your photos through online consult option for detailed prescription and diet advice.,,

Dear madam, you might also need some hormonal test to roll-out secondary courses for severe acne. also some baseline tests will be needed before we start treatment with the medication. treatment choice is dependent on the severity of acne and the number & types of pimples. you can send a photo online to consult and I can advise what has to be done next or else you can meet certified qualified dermatologist in your vicinity. Take care. hope this was helpful.
