Sending prenursery
My baby is 2.5 years old. May I send him to prenursery at this age or should send him directly to nursery? I don't know what is better for his age appropriate development & well being. Please suggest

Hi At 2.5 years, your baby is still very young, and the main focus right now should be play, socialization, and language development rather than structured academics. Pre-nursery (play school) is designed exactly for this age group short hours, simple routines, group play, and gentle exposure to other children and caregivers. It helps in: Building social skills (sharing, taking turns) Developing language and communication Learning basic routines (circle time, snack time, tidy-up) Reducing separation anxiety gradually which is important Directly putting a 2.5-year-old into nursery can sometimes feel overwhelming, as nursery expects slightly more attention span, basic instructions, and readiness for structured activities. So for age-appropriate development and well-being, pre-nursery is the better step at 2.5 years. You can then move to nursery at 3+ years, when your child will be more ready emotionally and developmentally.

At 2.5 years, most children benefit from a play-based environment like pre-nursery. It helps them gradually learn social skills, routine, sharing, and language in a gentle way. Nursery is usually started closer to 3 years of age, when children are more comfortable with structured learning.
Next Steps
• If available, enroll your child in pre-nursery now, and plan for nursery after 3 years. • Focus on a setting that offers safe play, age-appropriate activities, and caring teachers rather than purely academics.
Health Tips
Every child develops at their own pace. The most important factor at this stage is your child’s emotional comfort and social adjustment, not rushing into academics. Talk to teachers, observe how your child is adjusting, and then decide on moving to nursery.
