Dear Sir,
The symptoms you have mentioned—redness, pain, itching and pus formation—indicate an active inflammatory and suppurative stage of the cyst.
Homeopathy can be effective in such conditions by helping the body to control infection, reduce inflammation and promote natural drainage and healing. Remedy selection depends on the exact nature of pain, discharge and individual constitution, so treatment should be taken under proper homeopathic supervision.
Please avoid squeezing the cyst and keep the area clean.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hello, thank you for explaining your concern so clearly. I understand your hesitation about surgery, especially since the cyst was painless for a long time and has only recently become troublesome.
Based on your description, this appears to be a sebaceous (epidermoid) cyst that has become inflamed or infected. When a cyst remains quiet for months and then suddenly becomes red, painful, itchy, and starts forming pus, it usually indicates secondary infection or inflammation, often triggered by friction, pressure, sweating, or lowered immunity.
Please don’t panic—this is a common progression and does not mean anything serious or dangerous at this stage.
About surgery:
Surgery is often advised when:
There is active infection
The cyst is painful or repeatedly inflamed
There is pus formation
However, surgery is not the only option, especially if you are not comfortable with it right now.
Role of homeopathy:
Homeopathy can be very effective in:
Reducing inflammation and pain
Controlling infection and pus formation
Promoting natural drainage (if required)
Preventing recurrence by addressing the root cause
In many cases, homeopathic treatment helps settle the acute inflammation first, after which the cyst may reduce in size or remain inactive without surgery.
Since the cyst is currently painful and showing signs of infection, self-medication is not advisable. The choice of medicine depends on:
Exact size and location of the cyst
Nature of pain and discharge
Your general health, immunity, and tendency for skin issues
What you should do now:
Avoid squeezing, pressing, or puncturing the cyst
Keep the area clean and dry
Avoid friction from tight clothing
I would recommend starting individualized homeopathic treatment at the earliest, as early intervention can often prevent worsening and may help you avoid surgery.
You may contact me directly to begin treatment and guidance, either through consultation or follow-up discussion, so the condition can be managed safely and correctly.
With timely care, many such cases settle well

Hello Practo user. I understand your concern. No need of surgical removal. Homeopathic medicines will help in drainage of pus and the recurrence. Consult online for individualized medicine
Hello,
From your description, a sebaceous cyst that was painless for a long time and has now become red, painful, itchy, and started forming pus suggests that the cyst has become inflamed or infected.
At this stage, the concern is not only the cyst itself, but also the active infection inside it. This is why surgery is often advised, especially if pain and pus increase. However, management depends on:
• Severity of infection
• Amount of pus and tenderness
• Your general health and immunity
In some cases, conservative management can be considered under proper supervision, but self-medication is not advisable, as incorrect treatment can worsen infection or delay healing.
A proper assessment is important to decide:
• Whether inflammation can be controlled conservatively
• Whether intervention is required at this stage
• How to prevent recurrence
You may consult me online with details and images (if available), and I can guide you appropriately based on your individual condition.
Take care.
Next Steps
• Do not squeeze or press the cyst
• Monitor for increasing pain, swelling, fever, or discharge

• Seek timely medical guidance to prevent abscess formation
• Early management helps reduce complications and recurrence
Health Tips
• Keep the area clean and dry
• Avoid tight clothing or friction over the cyst
• Do not apply heat unless advised
• Maintain good hygiene
• Support immunity with adequate rest and hydration
• Avoid scratching, even if itching is present

My honest medical advice
If you truly want to avoid surgery: Consult a qualified homeopathic physician in person , Get it examined physically , Monitor daily changes
Based on your description, the cyst appears to be inflamed and likely infected, which is why you are experiencing redness, pain, itching, and pus formation. At this stage, the condition is no longer a simple painless sebaceous cyst.
Homoeopathic treatment may help reduce inflammation, pain, and support healing, but when active pus is present, it is important not to delay necessary surgical care. In some cases, incision and drainage becomes essential to prevent the infection from spreading or recurring.
Next Steps
I would strongly advise not to squeeze or manipulate the cyst. Please arrange a direct consultation so the condition can be assessed properly and the most appropriate treatment plan like homoeopathic, surgical, or a combination can be decided safely.
Health Tips
If you notice increasing pain, fever, spreading redness, or worsening discharge, please seek immediate surgical or dermatological care.
Your safety and proper healing are the priority.
